by | Jun 5, 2016 | Informative Blog, Website Design

[A]t DFW Website Designers we design great websites. This week, I want to share about an eCommerce website that went live. That site had three WordPress plugins that really very well.

A family run manufacturing business in Euless, Texas was in need of a very complicated eCommerce website upgrade. First they are one of the country’s top suppliers in awnings. Furthermore, they already had an online presence with a fairly complicated website. Next, the site needed to allow customers and dealers to custom order their awnings. Finally, they lacked: a modern looks, mobile responsiveness, and self maintenance capabilities.

We decided to redesign an entirely new website. The design was based on the simple look and feel that Apple currently emphasizes on its simple website.

3 WordPress Plugins that MADE a Nice eCommerce Site

There are a great many features I could explain and elaborate regarding their new website. However I want to zoom in on three great WordPress plugins that make this site–shine!

1) The WooCommerce Plugin

First, beyond the Thesis theme core, I installed WooCommerce WordPress plugin. I needed a simple low cost eCommerce solution with the flexibility of customization. This simple plugin fit the bill nicely.

2) The Uber Menu Plugin

Second, I needed a menu that would allow easy organization and fast access to over 40 different awning products. One that was both mobile responsive and allowed images built into the NAV bar. Uber Menu was the answer.

3) Gravity Forms Plugin

Finally, I needed a complex ordering option. The online ordering experience required custom drop down selections that could easily be changed based on features and options. I had heard good things about Gravity Forms. After building 40 customs cart forms, I love this product! Some of Awntech’s awning have over 100 different custom features. Most of them change the pricing based on selected features and colors.
