From our experience, we have seen that a neon sign font does wonders for PowerPoint presentations. The reason is simple. The neon effect makes the text more visible, and people can see it clearly from a distance.

You can add a neon sign font to your presentation with simple steps. 

• Select the shape so that the ribbon shows the Drawing tool format.
• Activate the ribbon tab by clicking it.
• Within the drawing tool, format clicks the Shape Effects.
• This brings the shape Effects.
• Now go to the gallery and select the Glow option.
• The option will show you different glows that can be stuck with your text.
• Move the cursor over to the effect of the glow.
• Now, click on any effect to apply.
• Following this method can add the Neon effect to your text.

Why Pinterest is a Good Piece of Social Media

For most businesses, doing social media is a daily task that most business owners, frankly don’t have the time to deal with. With Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn the way to stay relevant is to post and update pretty much every day. Blogging and podcast, well those require updates at least weekly. So how is Pinterest different?

Pinterest is the only piece of social media that continues to work for you day after day, month after month and year after year. In fact, in our test case, we didn’t add any posts to Pinterest for over a year to see what would happen. Would backlinks grow? Would we get more traffic from image posts a year later? Let’s see the data…

Pinterest is Valuable – The Data

In our test case, Pinterest, with relatively no new pins in over a year, still accounts for the 41% of all of the traffic to Daddy Got Custody blog. Also it is good to note that the bigger longer posts are doing much better than a basic 400×267 image. So creating longer 300×700 sized Pins seem to be moving the needle.

Conclusion: You absolutely positively have to have a business Pinterest account. You should create Pins for all your pages and all your blog posts, even if is only done once a year. The backlinks are incredible and have done nothing but increased since we last did this test 3½ years ago.

So what can you do about it?

It’s time to trap spam using a free product you probably already have on your cPanel called… BoxTrapper.

What is BoxTrapper & How Does it Work?

BoxTrapper is a tool that filters spam from your inbox through a process called challenge-response verification, whitelisting, ignoring, and blacklist. When an account that has BoxTrapper enabled receives an email, BoxTrapper checks to see if you’ve emailed them before, checks the whitelist of good accounts, if not it will automatically send a fully customizable verification email in response. The sender must complete the verification process before the email can pass through to the inbox. In short, it traps emails that don’t follow these instructions.

But fear not, these trapped emails are not lost forever. By default, BoxTrapper will list them in a “Review Queue” to have you study and whitelist those you truly want to receive. Furthermore, you can add to the blacklist of emails or domains you never want to receive thus improving your email over time.

With spam becoming more and more of a problem for my client, I decided to try BoxTrapper for 10 days to see what I found.

Setting Up BoxTrapper

To setup BoxTrapper, you have to first log onto your cPanel (or your WebMail) and Enable BoxTrapper…

Once it has been “Enabled” you will need to check the Review Queue at least daily. This will be a daily list from which you can scan through the emails and “whitelist” and delivery emails. Those that get added to the “whitelist” will not need to be checked later. Thus over time, this task of “reviewing” will get smaller.

So My Final Thoughts After Trying BoxTrapper for 10 Days

Oh my gosh, where has this product been all my life! You never realize how much time you waste looking at spam based emails. I feel like I have recovered hours and hours of email. It feels weirds to have like 5-10 real emails each day. I love this product. I like BoxTrapper so much we will be offering BoxTrapper services to our existing clients for $5 more a month on their maintenance (for those that don’t want to review their own trapped emails).

Benefits of Voice Blogging

This blog today I dictated by just talking to my screen. What’s great about this is this accomplishes two things: First, you have the ability to very quickly by just talking. Most of us can clearly talk faster than we could ever write. As small business owners, we are all very busy and don’t have time to do things that would help us with our marketing, such as blogging. And the problem with blogging is that it takes a lot of time.

I’m always looking for tools that will help you. I think this tool is amazing it requires a minimal amount of effort in editing but still allows you to write faster than you could actually type yourself. Besides most of us are really good at talking.

Benefits of Blogging – A Refresher

The problem with blogging is frequency. You must have a regular frequency that can be once a week, once a month, or once a day. However, as a small business owner, you tend to get caught up and not being able to keep the frequency you choose. Using voice dictation as a form of blocking, allows you to accomplish your blogging goals. By actually doing this today, this entire blog took me less than five minutes to put together. Yes it requires some editing, yes it required posting on WordPress, but nonetheless, the content, which is usually the hardest part, was easy to write.

I can think of so many other benefits of voice dictation. Such as voicing emails, documents, instructions, “To Do” lists, and of course blogging. My final thought is to remember:

• Proofread all the work you dictate,
• Add good H2s into your blog,
• Add pictures (I recommend DepositPhotos.com),
• Stay at it with the frequency you pick (daily, weekly or monthly).

I’m always cheering for you and always looking for better products that will help you be more successful. I love this product and hope you do too. It currently only works on Google Chrome.

So looking over three years of data, last month’s results are not new, but I rarely sustain them consistently from one month to the next. In fact, I do what many small web designers or small businesses folks do, I yo-yo. One good month, followed by a bad month followed again by a good month. Up and down like a yo-yo. The reason this occurs in my business is I focus on sales one month and then focus on building the next. I don’t maintain consistency from month to month. So with that in mind, you have to tweak month two to 2X your business in 30 days. Here’s my plan.

How to 2X Your Business in 30 Days, Part II

Last month I spent a lot of time on the little details of marketing actions. This month, I want to spend more time on the profitable actions.

The goal this month is $7900. How did I get to this goal? Well, I took last months collections, $5485 which was a 44% increase from July and multiplied it by another 44% for September. $5485 * 44% = $2413 + 5485 = $7898 or about $7900.

Now taking the average of the last five sales, which equals $1068, you would think I would just straight divide $7900/$1068 = 7.4 new sales would do the trick. BUT it isn’t quite that hard and it doesn’t quite work that way. Thankfully finishing up the six existing websites not finished, and taking into account reoccurring revenue for September I can expect to receive about $3000. Thus new sales is really only $7900 – $3000 = $4900 / $1068 or 4.6 new sales. Considering I got 5 new sales in August, I just need to repeat the same marketing effort but maintain consistent caught up production.

Be Focused: Pay attention to audience trends. Scan all the channels for changes in audience, demographics, customer feedback and new trend appetites.

It reminded me that there are old trends that we may be missing as well. Social Media and Digital Marketing move so quickly and at times it can be hard to keep up. I recently started a blog about blogging and I forgot to go back and see what is trending on Twitter about blogging. When I did go back I found a great thing that has been happening for a long time, a Twitter chat. The chat happens on Sunday nights with the hashtag #blogchat. I decided to jump into this conversation and I made some wonderful connections. My tip to you is to spend time stalking the social world and finding out what is happening in your field too.

I have recently discovered Chris Ducker and you will not be sorry that you watched this video. In this particular video he says do not offer too much unless you are ready to fulfill it. For example, do not say that you are going to blog daily unless you are really prepared to blog daily. You do not want to break people’s trust unintentionally.

Create 90 pieces of content in 90 days based on the 30 questions.

• Create 30 blog posts. The headline is the question. The copy is the answer. Immensely simple. Ridiculously valuable.

• Make 30 videos. Same topics. You might change the title ever so slightly. A lot of people would rather watch than read. Don’t get all worked up about the fact you’re not a professional video producer. Select the person best qualified to answer the question, point your digital device at them and press record.

• Make 30 podcasts. Why? A lot of people choose to listen, rather than read or watch. If your videos are talking heads (professional video speak), your podcast can simply be the audio track of your video.

Go with this sequence : post, video, podcast. Repeat 29 times. Or go with this: 30 posts, 30 videos, 30 podcasts. Whatever floats your boat.

These are three great resources to gain more ideas about content marketing. The last tip by Barry Feldman is wonderful because the average person or company will never fulfill those goals. If you can in any way find the time to do it, you will have a high probability of achieving content marketing success.
