Hotel websites have a lot of work to do. Not only do they have to meet all the standard performance markers, such as decent loading times and mobile responsiveness, but they also have to host attractive images, quantify availability, and generally stand out in a crowded market. As if all that weren’t enough, hotel websites should do a lot more legwork than most when it comes to the unspoken power of upselling.

From spa packages to room upgrades and pre-booked luxury dining, successful hotel upselling stands to bring in almost as much revenue as room bookings themselves. Yet, countless hoteliers fail to benefit. In fact, far from boosting existing bookings, poorly executed upselling can actually fuel cart abandonment right at the last second

In other words, messy website upsells don’t just lose you extra income – they could cost your profits altogether. But what exactly is wrong with your website’s upselling scheme right now, and how can you fix it? Let’s find out!

Hotel Website # 1 – The Personalization Problem

Personalization is vital online. This is the one tool that can knock down on-screen barriers and make sure you’re always giving your customers what they want. For hotels, that should include everything from the use of geo-location during bookings to personalized service with a digital smile.

For obvious reasons, personalization also matters a great deal with upselling, which won’t land unless those add-ons are fully targeted to the booking in question. If you’re not doing this right now, then it’s no surprise that your attempts to upsell are annoying rather than appealing to your customers.

So, what can you do about it? Well, the more you know about your customers, the better opportunity you’ll have to give them precisely what they want. Detailed hotel metrics like those provided by https://www.gourmetmarketing.net/hotel-metrics are a great place to start, as they’ll help you see the full guest journey from click-throughs to landing pages visited, and the booking dates or room types considered. This will give you a great grounding on which to offer the best upsells for that particular client. You’ll then need software that can turn these vital metrics into automated pre-booking upsells that are far more likely to land where you want them.

# 2 – A Question of Timing

As outlined in this article at https://medium.com/, timing is everything when it comes to sales, and your website upsells are no exception. Upselling offers that crop up before clients have even browsed your rooms are a little like a sales advisor who approaches too soon – they’re instantly off-putting and most definitely won’t secure a sale. Equally, upsales that come too close to checkout can feel like just another step in what should be a simple process. So, what exactly is the right timing for an opportune upsell?

It can be difficult to find this middle ground, but it does exist, and it’s usually somewhere around the time that a customer starts looking at actual dates. By this point, they’re impressed enough by your hotel to genuinely consider a stay, but they’re not yet at the point where they just want to complete their booking.

Let’s say a customer has selected a specific date for their stay, and they click ‘confirm’ on their chosen room. At this point, you’ve got their attention and enough metrics to land a great personalized upselling package, like an affordable family room upgrade or a dinner deal. Offering these things next to the ‘Checkout’ button is a non-invasive, effective way to seal the upselling deal.

# 3 – Leaning Too Heavily on Text Offers

Hotel websites are all about appearances. This is why you would never consider a text-heavy landing page, but probably use hotel imagery to do the talking for you. So, why do your current upsells consist of a simple line of text? That’s not appealing, and the chances are that frustrated customers will click off before they’ve even read what that text has to say.

To ensure you’re actually catching the right attention, you should aim to keep your upsells as image-heavy as your website itself. Of course, you do need to include some text to outline why exactly this upsell is worthwhile, or what’s actually included in that package, but that’s not what you want clients to see first. Instead, you want their eyes to land directly on a serene image of your spa, or a fantastic-looking meal from your top restaurant.

Not only are these images more appealing, but they also tie directly into the relaxing escapism that customers will enter as soon as they start getting serious about their booking. By this stage, they’re receptive and already imagining how great their stay can be. These images show them how much better it could become with your targeted upsells. Of course, you should still take steps to compress those upsell images and make them mobile responsive just like the rest of your site. But then, you sat back and let your offerings themselves do the talking.

Hotel Website # 4 – Upselling Overkill

Your hotel has a whole lot to offer, and you probably have plenty of upselling opportunities, too. But if you pile all of these onto every single potential client, you’ll never make a sale, let alone an upsell. To some extent, personalization will help with this as it narrows down the relevant upselling offers for each booking, but it’s still possible that decision fatigue will stop your customers from buying any add-ons at all. After all, who could realistically hold a plethora of options in their mind at any one time?

More than two or three upsells can quickly become a source of friction rather than a financial boost, so tread carefully. Curate your selections, and consider introducing them at different times. For instance, you could offer room upgrades and spa packages during room selection itself, and then early or late check-in options during actual checkout. This drip feeding will stop clients from feeling quite so overwhelmed, and that could be the secret to securing more upsells than you’ve ever managed before!

What additional thoughts would you add?

If you’re scratching your head in confusion over why your website isn’t getting traffic, then you’re not the first, and you certainly won’t be the last to do so.

You’ve installed a plugin like Yoast, you’ve picked out keywords, and you’re blogging weekly, but when it comes to your Google Analytics, it’s flatlining. Sound familiar?

Most business owners or those responsible for building a presence online will think that building traffic is all about SEO. In reality, search engine optimization is merely the plumbing.

Traffic is a byproduct of achieving great value, distribution and user experience. When you’re missing these, you’re not going to get anywhere by backlinking. That’s not going to save the business or help it drive more traffic to your digital doors.

The Value Gap – Content Without a Soul

Content without a soul is the type of content that will go nowhere fast in garnering your website traffic.

If you’re writing a ‘what is [topic]?’ style of post that already has millions of results, then you’re already facing some stiff competition. The same goes for not adding a unique form of information, whether that’s personal experience, hot takes and new data.

Google will have no reason to rank you if you’re not providing value to the content you’re creating or if you’re being too broad with the topics you’re covering.

When you’re running a company, it’s important to promote yourself at any opportunity given. However, if your content is all about the company and various announcements specific to just the business, then customers aren’t likely to connect with you.

Customers aren’t searching for your news, they’re searching for solutions for their problems or information that they’re interested in from word-of-mouth or individuals’ curiosity. Promoting yourself too often or making it your whole reason for content is not going to drive the traffic you’re after.

Search intent is useful to get right to. You might be ranking for keywords, but are they the right ones? Ranking for ‘free tools’ when you’re actually selling a premium service is not the right type of marketing and advertising you need.

Your Website Isn’t Getting Traffic e – The ‘Invisible Brand’

When it comes to improving your digital PR and marketing efforts, your brand needs to exist and be present. At the same time, you can’t expect that just because it exists, users will find you. Great content doesn’t get found; it gets promoted, and therefore, you mustn’t be an invisible brand, especially when spending so much effort on creating said content.

The 80/20 Rule of Marketing

You should be spending around 20% of your time creating and then 80% of it distributing that content in order for it to get seen. Despite it only being 20%, that small amount spent on creating content should be detailed and high-quality, every single time.

As you begin to grow, you might find yourself having a bit more time to spend on creating content as the organic traffic starts to flow in.

Dark Social and Community

It’s useful to explore other areas of the internet, like the subreddits or LinkedIn groups, where your audience may be hanging out. The internet is, of course, a vast place digitally, so it’s helpful to explore where your brand is being mentioned and to engage with those socials and the community within them.

Email as a Traffic Driver

Your existing audience remains the best source of recurring traffic when you have their email information available to you. It should be the one you rely on to help signal to Google that your site is worth visiting.

The Technical Barriers, aka The Friction Factor

There are a number of technical barriers that cause friction with your users. Some may be obvious, while others might not be so if you’re not as proficient online as other businesses may be.

For example, if your site is taking longer than three seconds to load, nearly half of your traffic is going to bounce. If your site is hard to navigate and isn’t mobile-friendly, that can also bury your business before it’s even given the chance to thrive.

Pop-ups are also something to be conscious about, especially when it comes to how aggressively you use them. Lead magnets and cookie consent banners are what are killing your ‘time on page’ metrics and increasing those bounce rates too.

The Trust Problem

When it comes to authority, if you don’t have trust, then that authority won’t exist. You want a website that is authentic in its experience for the customer and the expertise you provide. If the site looks like it was created by AI, then it’s not going to have the same impact as writing it through human experience.

The lack of social proof can also hinder your business, especially if you don’t have any reviews or provide ‘as seen in’ logos. A lack of bio for the author or any information about the company’s background will mean users switching off.

It’s important to have mentions from sites that people actually read. So while link building is effective, the use of digital PR is equally, if not more important to have as a business strategy.

The Traffic Recovery Roadmap

To help improve your efforts in getting your website traffic, there’s a traffic recovery roadmap that is useful to follow.

Firstly, audit your content. Take away any content that might be dragging your site down, or look to improve upon it to make it more applicable. Adding a personal case study or unique data to your top five posts.

Pick one platform and commit to sharing your best hits daily for a month, and be sure to compress your images and switch to a faster host to fix speed problems.

Generating Traffic is a Social Game

You want to stop treating your website like a library and start treating it like a conversation. If you want more traffic to your website this year, then stop looking at your dashboard and begin looking at where your audience is already talking, especially about you.

Choosing the right address for a website is a crucial first step in establishing a digital presence. Before launching a new project online, making sure the desired address is available prevents future complications. Many site owners skip this step and run into problems later. Checking availability early can save you time and effort and ensure your launch goes smoothly.

Understanding Domain Names

A domain name is a key element of your online identity. It’s one of the first things visitors notice and remember. A good name builds credibility and makes your brand recognizable. People often remember sites that have simple, relevant addresses. A memorable address stands out and is easier to share. Taking the time to choose a clear, brand-friendly domain will pay off in the long run.

The Importance of Checking Availability

Checking availability at this early stage is essential because it will confirm whether your chosen name can be used to represent your brand. Without this confirmation, you will have to redo all branding and design work. If someone else has already registered the name, you won’t be able to claim that exact domain. It is important to register your desired domain as soon as possible so someone else doesn’t claim it.

How to Search for Available Domains

Many registrars offer search tools to help site owners determine domain availability. These tools are easy to use, and the process only takes a few moments. You can type the name you want and check the results. If the domain is available, you can proceed to registration. If not, consider slight differences or alternatives. Many registrars also suggest similar options, which makes the process easier.

Use Registrar Search Tools

These tools instantly show if the domain is taken or available. Many registrars also highlight premium domains, availability across different extensions, and pricing to help you make the right choice. This makes the selection process quicker and more organized for new website owners.

Review Suggested Alternatives

Registrars often show similar names when your preferred domain is unavailable. These suggestions can include variations in spellings, additional keywords, or unique extensions that still could be a good fit for your brand. Sometimes, these auto-suggested options can offer you relevant and memorable names that provide flexibility while still reflecting your identity.

Tips for Choosing a Domain Name

Choose a name that closely matches your brand and the purpose of your site. Avoid using special characters when possible, since they can confuse visitors. For better recognition, consider using relevant keywords that align with your site’s content. A unique name will help you stand out from the competition while still being easy to remember. You should also think about how the address will sound when it is spoken aloud.

Considering Different Extensions

Extensions such as “.com,” “.net,” and “.org” offer variety. The most popular choice is “.com” because people often assume it is the correct ending. If your preferred extension is already in use, you should explore other options. Many new extensions are now available, providing creative choices to businesses targeting niche markets. Selecting the right extension adds credibility and relevance to your website.

Checking Social Media Usernames

To create a strong brand, you need to be consistent across different platforms. Once you have confirmed that your preferred domain name is available, the next step is to verify whether you can claim similar usernames on major social sites. Similar or exact-match names make it easier for people to find you and remember your brand. This consistency in branding ensures a cohesive positioning and reduces any scope for confusion.

Registering and Protecting Your Domain<

You should quickly register the address after confirming its availability. If you wait too long, someone else may claim it. Most registrars make the process easy and secure. Enter the necessary information and complete payment to secure ownership. Registration typically lasts for a year, with renewal options available. Owning the address officially means no one else can use it during this period.

You should also consider purchasing domains with other extensions and similar spellings to prevent confusion and keep competitors from claiming them. Securing multiple variations will protect your brand and direct visitors to the correct site. Many registrars also offer privacy protection to keep your registration details confidential. These measures enhance security and protect the brand.

Renewal and Ongoing Management

You should keep track of renewal dates so you don’t lose the domain. Set reminders or enable automatic renewal for convenience. Losing registration may result in someone else claiming the domain. Keeping your contact information updated will ensure you receive important renewal notices. Many people register their addresses for several years to prevent any lapse in ownership.

Conclusion

You should take the time to choose the right name and ensure it is available before launching your site. Simple, memorable names with suitable extensions create a strong foundation for any online project. Secure the chosen address promptly, protect it through thoughtful management, and enjoy a smooth start to your online journey.

In a previous article, Fred Campos delved into the importance of branding for business success. The core of your branding efforts is your business name, making it crucial to choose one carefully. It’s advisable to use the same name for your URL or domain and social media pages for consistency. That’s why some business owners try to find available domain names first before creating a list of potential business names. This way, you won’t run into the trouble of deciding on a name only to find out you can’t use a web address with it because the domain is taken.

The truth, however, is that finding a fitting name is easier said than done. There are several considerations, including your company’s vision and its products or services, marketing potential, and how the name matches other design elements in your website. Ticking all of these boxes take time and resources. Some budding entrepreneurs even hire consultants for planning and launching their company, which also covers naming and other branding aspects.

The good news is there are digital tools that can help you accomplish this task. A domain and social media name checker can save you from a lot of headaches in trying to find the right name for your business. Continue reading below to learn about its main uses.

Domain & Social Media Name Checker – Speeds Up the Process

At the time of writing, there are more than 639 million registered domains worldwide as shown in a report from Domain Name Stat. Thousands more are added every month. Unless the name you have in mind is extremely unique, you’ll be hard-pressed to find name variations that are all available.

Using a domain and social media name checker lets you filter through hundreds of results within seconds. You can have recommendations that will let you form a short list of names that are viable for registration.

Contributes to Building a Good Reputation

Your business can operate without a website, but Namechk advises having one along with a corresponding domain name because it adds credibility. A domain and social media name checker can show suggestions that can help you establish your brand.

That’s because your domain and social media assets not only make you more visible to customers. They allow your business to have more interactions with them, which is beneficial for building brand loyalty.

Domain & Social Media Name Checker – Helps You Follow Best Practices

A domain and social media name checker also accounts for best practices when suggesting names. Business.com lists some of them such as localization, recall factor, and how easy they are to type in search browsers or social media platforms. When you input a name you like into the tool, it will provide optimal candidates based on these criteria or other similar metrics.

In addition to the above, a domain and social media name checker can also deliver creative name options that may help you stand out from the competition. A name that encapsulates your commitment to serving customers is good, but having one that’s catchy at the same time is even better.

Takes SEO Into Consideration

Digital Connect Mag notes that a good domain name can aid your SEO efforts. A name that signifies the greatest qualities of your business fosters consumer trust. A domain and social media name checker can point you toward some excellent options that could aid in achieving this goal.

Getting that trust means gaining more traffic to your website and social media pages. In turn, it helps you improve your search engine rankings, which then increases your brand awareness further. It’s a snowball effect from which any business will benefit greatly.

As discussed above, the advantages of using a domain and social media name checker go well beyond the initial stages of a business. Owning a name that’s exactly right for your company lets you paint a clearer picture of how to nurture your brand in the long run.

Start your journey by making a website that delivers your needs as well as those of your customers. We here at DFW Website Designers can guide you every step of the way.

Web design and branding are important for your business for many reasons. First, your website is often the first impression that potential customers will have of your company. If your site is poorly designed, potential customers may be turned off before they even have a chance to learn more about your business.

Second, your website and branding can help you to stand out from the competition. In a crowded marketplace, a professionally designed website and strong branding can make all the difference in attracting and retaining customers. Finally, an effective web presence can help to build trust and credibility with potential and existing customers. In today’s digital world, consumers are increasingly looking online for information about businesses before they make a purchase. By investing in professional web design and branding, you can ensure that your business is putting its best foot forward.

What are web design and branding?

Web design refers to the process of creating a website. This includes the layout, content, and overall look of the site. Branding, on the other hand, is the use of a specific name, logo, or another identifier to create an association with a product or company. It’s important to note that web design and branding are not the same things. While branding can be a part of web design, it’s not the only element. A well-designed website should be easy to navigate and contain relevant, engaging content. Additionally, it should reflect the overall brand of the company or organization. By incorporating these elements, a website can effectively communicate its message and achieve its objectives.

How do web design and branding help a business?

A well-designed website and strong branding can be extremely helpful for any business. A good web design can make a website more user-friendly and easy to navigate, helping potential customers find the information they need. Good web design can also help to build trust and credibility, making it more likely that customers will do business with a company. Strong branding can also create a more favorable impression of a company, making it more likely that customers will remember the company and its products or services. Ultimately, both web design and branding can play an important role in helping a business to attract and retain customers.

Importance of a professionally designed website

A website is often the first point of contact between a business and its potential customers. In today’s competitive marketplace, it is essential that a website makes a good first impression. A professionally designed website can help to create an image of a well-established, successful business. It can also help to instill confidence in potential customers, encouraging them to do business with the company. In addition, a professionally designed website can be an important tool for marketing and branding. By highlighting a company’s products and services, a well-designed website can attract new customers and help to grow a business. In today’s digital world, a professionally designed website is essential for any business that wants to succeed.

Different aspects of web design that should be considered

Different aspects of web design that should be considered include layout, color scheme, typography, and imagery. The layout of a website should be easy to navigate and use, with a clear hierarchy of information. The color scheme should be consistent and complementary, and the typography should be easy to read. Imagery should be used sparingly and should be relevant to the content of the website. By considering these different aspects of web design, you can create a website that is both visually appealing and user-friendly.

Tips for creating an effective brand strategy

Creating a strong brand is essential for any business, big or small. A brand is more than just a logo or name – it’s the whole package, including the values, mission, and message that a company conveys to its customers. An effective brand strategy takes all of these elements into account and translates them into a coherent and consistent marketing approach. Here are some tips for creating an effective brand strategy:

1. Define your target audience. Who are you trying to reach? What are their needs and wants? Understanding your target audience is essential for crafting a relevant and persuasive brand message.

2. Create a unique selling proposition. What makes your company different from the competition? Why should customers choose you over someone else? Answering these questions will help you to create a powerful brand identity that stands out from the crowd.

3. Develop a consistent visual identity. Your logo, website, and marketing materials should all use the same colors, fonts, and style to create a cohesive look and feel. This will help customers instantly recognize your brand and associate it with positive associations.

4. Keep your messages clear and concise. Don’t try to say too much at once – focus on one key message per campaign or piece of collateral. This will make it easier for audiences to remember your brand and what it stands for.

5. Be true to your values. Your brand strategy should be an extension of your company’s values – if you’re not living up to them, customers will quickly see through you. Be authentic in everything you do, and make sure that your actions always align with your stated values.

Why logo design is so important

A logo is more than just a symbol. It’s an essential part of your brand identity. A well-designed logo can help your business to stand out from the competition and make a lasting impression on potential customers. It can also communicate what your business is all about, conveying your values and giving people an idea of what they can expect from your products or services. In short, a good logo is essential for any business that wants to build a strong and professional brand identity. So, if you’re thinking of starting a business, or if you’re in the process of rebranding, make sure you give logo design the attention it deserves. Invest in a professional designer, and take the time to ensure that your logo perfectly represents your business. Your logo will be with you for a long time, so it’s worth getting it right.

The post Why Web Design & Branding Is So Important For Your Business first appeared on DFW Website Designers - 817.247.6003.

Responsive web design is a type of website design that involves aligning the website to the behaviours and environment of the user to deliver a superior user experience. In other words, when you opt for a responsive web design, there is a single website that adjusts itself depending on the device on which it is viewed. It cuts down the need for desktop and mobile versions of a website.

While there are plenty of ways to leverage web design services for designing your website, responsive design is the latest trend, especially in the e-commerce space. Website design companies recommend businesses use a responsive website to attract more traffic and quality leads. Creative agencies across the board believe that the website plays a critical role in driving the right kind of audience, and the more adapted the website is to the user’s need, the better the outcome.

Here are the key benefits of choosing a responsive web design for your e-commerce website.

1- It boosts the SEO performance of your website

Staying right on top of search results requires your SEO to be impeccable. Branding agencies believe that using a responsive web design can give a boost to your SEO, thanks to the design flexibility provided. For instance, there is only a single URL for your website, regardless of the type of device it is viewed on.

A single URL makes it easy for Google to index your website, which is a crucial part of SEO ranking. You can also avoid creating duplicate content that often impacts your ranking adversely. Moreover, it makes it easier for your audience to share the content with others. Once users keep coming back to your website, the search engine algorithm automatically takes notes and pushes your ranking.

Responsive websites also have lower bounce rates which have a direct impact on your SEO. Bounce rate is a measure of how quickly visitors exit your website, and keeping it on the lower end is desirable. Repeatedly noticing high bounce rates on a website can signal the search engine your website isn’t trustworthy or helpful, resulting in a lower rank. Having a responsive design provides a better experience by adapting to the requirements of the user. This maximizes the user experience and brings down your bounce rate, which improves your SEO.

2 – Maintenance is fuss-free

Launching a website is the tip of the iceberg. One needs to maintain it to ensure that there are no bugs or errors impacting the user experience. With adaptive web design, you need to ensure that both versions of the website are in top shape. On the other hand, since a responsive web design only has a single website, you don’t need to spend double the resources and time. Not only is it beneficial for your bottom line, but it also helps you to carry out updates to the website in a seamless manner.

In most cases, the interface for web admin is extremely flexible, with no learning curve. Business owners without knowledge of coding or HTML can access it whenever they want and view it on whichever device they want to. In fact, the time you save can be invested towards other functions of your business that needs your attention.

3 – You can easily capture the traffic from mobile users

With the advent of mobile devices, browsing on the go is what the majority of your target audience prefers doing. And if you have an e-commerce website, the chances of mobile browsing are even higher. Whether your audience is waiting at a supermarket checkout counter or commuting to work, there is always an opportunity to use a smartphone and check out what your store has to offer.

If your website doesn’t adapt to the mobile screen size, the audience will not enjoy browsing through it. Imagine if your e-commerce website sells bags, and the photos of your products appear stretched out as your website cannot adapt to a mobile screen — doesn’t exactly sound like the ideal way to approach your target audience. In contrast, with a responsive website, you never have to worry about grabbing more eyeballs as everything is customized to adapt to the device your audience is using.

4 – Improves the reputation of your brand

Having solid goodwill in the market is a non-negotiable in today’s market. There are thousands of businesses waiting for a chance to grab the audience’s attention. So if you have a fragmented website that doesn’t offer a fluid viewing and browsing experience, you are likely to lose your customer to your competition.

Moreover, digitally savvy customers expect websites to be of a certain quality, whether they are browsing on their phones or on their desktops. If you are able to meet their expectations, you can get a customer for life. If not, the reputation of your business can take a hit.

To put it simply, a small change in your website can deliver a huge payoff and get your customers to talk about your business in the manner you would want them to. For someone who is visiting your website for the first time, a responsive site can create a more impactful impression compared to a regular web design. If you can satisfy them from the get-go, the chances of them coming back increase, as do the chances of finding new customers through word-of-mouth marketing.

5 – Your conversion rate can be through the roof

Conversion rate is the metric every e-commerce business owner is chasing. The higher your conversion rate, the better you are at attracting meaningful traffic that transacts with your business.

A responsive web design can go a long way in helping you achieve your dream numbers. If the visitors are satisfied with the viewing experience on their devices, they are likely to come back for a repeat purchase. Such a web design can also help you to provide a seamless checkout experience, which is critical for lowering abandoned cart rates.

6 – It can keep your costs in check

Regulating the cash outflow of an e-commerce business is on top of every owner’s checklist. While skimping on essential spending is never recommended, it doesn’t hurt to save a penny where it is possible without damaging your brand value.

Even though the initial investment in creating a responsive website is on the higher side, there are no recurring costs as you only need to invest in one version. When you contrast it with multiple versions required for different screens such as desktop, mobile, tablet/iPad, etc., it works out to be more economical.

Having A Responsive Web Design is Exactly What Your e-Commerce Business Needs

Providing the best user experience is key to winning customers right off the bat. If you make it effortless for the audience to browse through your website, you can create an excellent impression and keep them coming for more.

With the ubiquity of digital marketing in 2022, marketing professionals may feel like their content is a single grain of sand at the beach. And while it is true that there is a lot of competition for customer eyes out there, it isn’t as hard to rise above the muck as you might think. To help optimize your digital marketing efforts, keep reading for 5 digital marketing optimization tips that will directly impact your profits.

1. Provide an Elite Website Experience

Watch any streaming video or visit any website and you are likely to see an advertisement for careers in UX design. It is one of the fastest growing professions in the world, and for good reason. In the age of ecommerce, your website’s UX can be the difference between securing a profitable, lifelong client or having a visitor leave your page in a matter of seconds, never to be thought of again.

Even with the UX explosion, businesses are still scrambling and struggling to optimize their UX. While creating a professional, aesthetically pleasing website is important, it is only part of the equation. Some other factors include:

Page loading time – slow loading pages irk online shoppers and are one of the greatest contributors to an elevated bounce rate

Customer service – while many people like shopping on websites so that they can browse at their own leisure, other customers have dire questions that need immediate responses. Having easily accessible customer service channels is critical to ensuring customer satisfaction

Simple home pages – less is usually more when designing a homepage. Visitors should be able to instantly land on your page, process the information, and determine your brand and value proposition. Use images, fonts, logos, and catchphrases in place of ponderous text passages

While there is no shortage of web building platforms on the market today, the reality is that most people don’t have the skills to design a premium site that creates a UX that will stand out. Therefore, partnering with a professional web design company is likely to be one of the most profitable investments your business can make.

2. Carefully Manage Digital Assets

Although digital marketing has made marketing easier and more affordable in many respects, it has also taken some of the control away from businesses. With a wider pool of resellers, remote employees, and affiliates, marketing messages can become a bit muddled, and brands can become watered down.

To help avoid this pitfall, it is worthwhile to invest in a digital marketing asset management tool for your business. A DAM program can help your business create a unified marketing message and compile all marketing content in a convenient location, making it accessible to all sales reps and other parties who are spreading the word about your company.

3. Regularly Post Professional Content

Long form content is one of the best ways to boost SEO for a business. By carefully choosing the correct keywords, ascertaining trending queries in your business niche, and crafting professional content to fill the need for answers, businesses can boost the number of organic visitors that arrive at their website. No question is too small or insignificant to be answered online. The more helpful answers that you provide, the more you become viewed as an authority in your field, which will result in more views, shares, and recommendations—all of which further boost SEO.

And don’t limit your regular posting to blog and vlog content. Many businesses know that social media is critical to business success in 2022 and create accounts with all of the trending platforms. However, they aren’t able to stay consistent with their posting, and their audience never grows. Consistent, quality posting is the key to social media success. Just like any other item on your daily or weekly business to-do list, be sure to fill your social media accounts with top-notch media, trending keywords, and relevant text captions.

4. Join the Online Conversation

Posting to your own website, blog, or social media account isn’t the only way to get your voice recognized as an authority online. Be sure to check relevant blogs, forums, and social media accounts in your industry and add your two cents.

While filling up competitors’ comments with spammy or salesy links is probably a great way to get blocked, if you can offer thoughtful insight to online discussions in your niche, you can get your business in front of a new set of eyes. One particularly interesting concept is to explore the realm of broken link building. Peruse online content in your field and see if any of the links in the content direct the visitor back to a dead, expired, or blocked page. If so, contact the site administrator and let them know that your business would be a great option to update the broken link. This can allow existing traffic to click through and land on your site, growing traffic and boosting SEO.

5. Don’t Neglect Email Marketing

Many email marketing campaigns fail due to poor execution. They send out mass emails that have little to no chance of getting opened, get marked as spam, and all subsequent messages trigger the recipient’s inbox filter.

However, when properly executed, no digital marketing medium can match email’s 3600% return on investment. Keep your email campaigns focused on clients who have voluntarily furnished their information to your business. Send them messages on their birthdays on other special occasions. Make your email content professional and full of meaningful offers. When you do this, the fruits of email marketing will be realized.

Use These 5 Digital Marketing Tips and Watch Profits Soar

There is no doubt that digital marketing is a competitive field in 2022. However, with the proper planning and execution, it is more than possible to separate yourself from the crowd. Providing an elite UX, carefully managing digital assets, regularly posting authoritative content, joining the online conversation, and refocusing your email campaigns are 5 helpful tips that can optimize your digital marketing efforts and increase profits online.

The post 5 Digital Marketing Optimization Tips For Businesses first appeared on DFW Website Designers - 817.247.6003.

Step 1: In your theme directory, create a new directory called ‘WooCommerce.’

Step 2: Copy the template you want to modify from the wp-content/plugins/WooCommerce/templates directory to your computer.

Step 3: Once you’ve copied your template, return to the ‘WooCommerce’ directory we just made and paste the copied template there.

Step 4: You can now edit and change the structure of the new template.

You’ve worked with your designer (hopefully it’s us). You are super excited and your new website is live. Now what? What do you do after your website is live?

The work doesn’t stop here, it actually begins here. So often in my 10 years of helping small businesses create a new website, I have found many businesses stop working on marketing their business through their website the moment that it REALLY counts. Below are my top ten recommendations once your new website is live. We’ll go deeper into each one in the coming days but this BRIEF summary should get you started.

1. SEO the Website Images

A great website is a super start. It’s now time to pay for or SEO your site yourself. One of the best places to start is with your website’s images. Here is a great article I have previously written that will help you with this. How to SEO a Picture for Your Website.

2. Add Some Internal and External Links

This post doesn’t go into the details as to why this is important (you can read more here. But let’s just say, you will help your SEO if you add at least one link to another section in your website (internal linking) and perhaps to an article outside your website (but not your competitor). Again this will help long term your Google ranking and is part of the core of good SEO.

3. Go Green on Yoast Readability

And speaking of SEO, one of the best ways to help your SEO the content of your new website is to install the free version and follow the guidelines for Yoast SEO. This is so important, I’ll dedicate a full blog to this in the coming days

<img decoding="async" src="https://DFWWebsiteDesigners.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screen-Shot-2019-09-03-at-8.11.04-PM.png" <="" p="">

4. Speed Up the Website

Believe it or not, how fast your website loads, plays a small factor in your ranking. There are a number of ways to help with speed, ranging from a faster host, smaller images, and even a few plugins that cache your site for you. We’ll discuss more this shortly, but you can check your website speed here using GTmetrix one of my favorites.

5. Submit Your Site to Google

Did your developer create you a site.xml? Are you listed using Google Search Console? There are a variety of different elements you need to perform to get your website ready to be found on Google. We’ll dedicate a future full blog to this.

6. Start Social Media

Do you have a social media plan? Does your social media that matches your brand on your new website? Do you have an idea of how you can tactfully use social media to help promote your website? With a good plan, this can be one of the best ways to gain traffic, attention, and perhaps even good leads.

7. Start Blogging

You have heard the phrase content is king. One of the easiest ways to increase content on your business website is to start a business blog. What is a blog? How often should I blog? How do I do that effectively? What is the frequency? We’ll address all these questions and more.

8. Submit to Other Search Engines

Google may rule the world, and you certainly want to start with them, but what about all the other search engines out there. Here’s a good article by Renee Groskreutz to get you started.

9. Tell the World

This may seem obvious but it deserves repeating. Post a sign, send out an email blast. List a press release. Mention it at the company meeting. Add it to your business card. Post it on your personal Facebook page. It is time to tell the world about your new website.

10. Consider Google Ads

If this is your first website for your business, and you have not had a web presence before, even if you do all of the above, it’s going to take some time to get found online. So what do you do? My suggestion is it make be time to start with some form of paid Google Adwords. Depending on your business, I like to start clients with $100-$500 the first month in phone only AdWords. With this you only advertise on mobile devices, they can only click to call, and you choose the hours to be available. Again I’ll show you some examples we do for clients you can follow.

So as you can see the work has really only begun once your website has gone live. Stay tuned we’ll dive deeper in all these topics. If you need help feel free to reach out to us. Taking a time bit of extra time will make all the difference in your new site.

The post 10 Things to Do After Your Website is Live first appeared on DFW Website Designers - 817.247.6003.

When we think of SEO (search engine optimization), you want the very best options to be found online. Small business friends, you need to have great SEO for your website. So outside of hiring an SEO specialist what can you do to improve SEO? Here are my 10 quick and simple tips you can do to improve SEO.

Small Tweaks to Improve SEO

1. Install an SSL Certificate. The very first element you can improve to make your website found online is add an SSL certificate. SSL is that little green lock that you see on the top left corner of your browser. It tells Google and your browser that your site is secure when using https. For many of you, it’s just a simple as calling your hosting provider, paying a nominal fee and telling them that you want it installed on your site. Google tends to favor and rank higher websites with SSL than others.

2. Make Your Website Mobile Responsive. Your website absolutely, positively, without question, must be mobile responsive. If you currently have a website built in WordPress that is not mobile responsive, the easiest thing to do is to change the theme. For the rest of you, contact your web provider or contact us and will help you. According to Statista, more than 50% of all website views are on smartphone. Thus your website must be mobile responsive.

Let’s Talk Keywords and Layout

3. One Main Keyword Per Page. When considering SEO for your site, focus on one keyword per page at a time. Outside of your homepage, each additional page needs to deal with a singular idea–that idea we called the focus keyword or keyword phrase. The keyword phrase for this page is “improve SEO”.

4. One Title H1 Per Page. Every page in your website needs at least one title. Most websites call this title, an H1 title. It’s the main thing usually in the biggest print. If it was a newspaper, the title we are referring too, would be the headline. Every website page needs to have one, and only one, H1 on each page. You can have several H2s and lots of content, but you’re only allowed to have one H1 per page.

5. Website Speed is Key. Your website must load fast as loading speed is one of the most important elements that Google and other search engines consider in ranking. There are a number of ways to make your website lighter:

Smaller Optimized Images (Sizes),

A Good and Fast Hosting Provider,

A Few Good Current Plugins,

Minimum Script Calls, and

A Fast & Current Theme.

6. Well Named Images. All the images on your website need to be optimized for fast loading. This is important, but for SEO they need to be named well with keyword included. For example, your logo should not be called “logo.jpg,” it should be the named the name of your company, like this:
DFW-Website-Designers-Company-Logo.jpg

All the images must be appropriately named and tagged, otherwise, you miss out on additional indexing.

Great Content is King for Improved SEO

7. Great Content. The next four points are going to talk about, deal with content. SEO starts with very good content. Inform the viewer with the information they need to know, in enough details that explain your product or service easily. Your content must be meaningful, informative, useful and modern. Google is looking for websites with great content that help the external client make decisions about your products and services.

8. Consider Adding a Blog. Since we’re talking about content, one easy element to adding regular content is by providing a blog. A blog is a regular article added to your website. The most important tip regarding a blog, pick a frequency and stick to it. Many clients try to start with a daily pattern. This is an unreasonable frequency. Perhaps it makes sense to blog monthly or to weekly. Nevertheless, whatever frequency you start, you need to keep. Not doing so is a disservice to yourself and your clients at the service

9. Content Must be at Least 400 Words. As you write page content for your website, you must write at least 400 words per page. Furthermore, break up content with small paragraphs, a mix of images, frequent H2 titles, bullet points and list to make it easily readable.

10. Answer Common Questions & Definitions. Finally high ranking content tends to answer frequently asked questions about your product and services. Write concise and detailed information about these answers and Google will reward with higher search ranking.

There are many ways to improve SEO for your website. Considering these suggestions will greatly improve your ranking.
