[I]s your website looking a bit dated? If so don’t feel bad. It happens to the best of the websites on the planet. As a general rule websites need to be updated every three years. Trends and technology both change as well as search engine rules and it is difficult to stay on top of these trends. This is why websites often need to be redesigned.
Mobile Websites
If your website does not look good on a mobile phone or tablet, then it is not mobile responsive. Then you are likely in need of a website update. It is possible to get a mobile website that is independent of your current website. However, search engines are not as big of a fan of this idea. Now it is better to just have one version of your website out there. It can also be a lot of work keeping up with two websites. Each time that you need to make a change it will require double the effort.
Websites that Need Redesign – Dated Look
Perhaps your content is really good but the website itself is looking a bit dated. If this is your scenario then you need an updated look and feel but not new content. Content is half the battle, so if this is your scenario you are in great shape for a new responsive look. This will make your project go faster and smoother.
Redesign Planning
When you are getting ready to approach the topic of redesigning your website it is suggested to do a bit of planning. Take a good stock of your website content and make sure that it still fits the need of your business today. The next thing that I would do is take a look at your google analytics and see which pages are getting the most amount of traffic. If you are surprised by what you see, then spend some time thinking about why those pages are getting traffic and then consider that for your redesign efforts. The other thing that I would suggest is reviewing your images on the site and see if they are out of date. If they are we have some great image websites that we will recommend to you.
We are here to work with you each and every step of the way through your website redesign. If you are not sure where you stand and would like a second opinion to shoot us an email or give us a call. It just so happens that when we consult with people there are plenty of folks who don’t really need a redesign after all. We will be honest and upfront with you each step of the way.
