Hotel websites have a lot of work to do. Not only do they have to meet all the standard performance markers, such as decent loading times and mobile responsiveness, but they also have to host attractive images, quantify availability, and generally stand out in a crowded market. As if all that weren’t enough, hotel websites should do a lot more legwork than most when it comes to the unspoken power of upselling.

From spa packages to room upgrades and pre-booked luxury dining, successful hotel upselling stands to bring in almost as much revenue as room bookings themselves. Yet, countless hoteliers fail to benefit. In fact, far from boosting existing bookings, poorly executed upselling can actually fuel cart abandonment right at the last second

In other words, messy website upsells don’t just lose you extra income – they could cost your profits altogether. But what exactly is wrong with your website’s upselling scheme right now, and how can you fix it? Let’s find out!

Hotel Website # 1 – The Personalization Problem

Personalization is vital online. This is the one tool that can knock down on-screen barriers and make sure you’re always giving your customers what they want. For hotels, that should include everything from the use of geo-location during bookings to personalized service with a digital smile.

For obvious reasons, personalization also matters a great deal with upselling, which won’t land unless those add-ons are fully targeted to the booking in question. If you’re not doing this right now, then it’s no surprise that your attempts to upsell are annoying rather than appealing to your customers.

So, what can you do about it? Well, the more you know about your customers, the better opportunity you’ll have to give them precisely what they want. Detailed hotel metrics like those provided by https://www.gourmetmarketing.net/hotel-metrics are a great place to start, as they’ll help you see the full guest journey from click-throughs to landing pages visited, and the booking dates or room types considered. This will give you a great grounding on which to offer the best upsells for that particular client. You’ll then need software that can turn these vital metrics into automated pre-booking upsells that are far more likely to land where you want them.

# 2 – A Question of Timing

As outlined in this article at https://medium.com/, timing is everything when it comes to sales, and your website upsells are no exception. Upselling offers that crop up before clients have even browsed your rooms are a little like a sales advisor who approaches too soon – they’re instantly off-putting and most definitely won’t secure a sale. Equally, upsales that come too close to checkout can feel like just another step in what should be a simple process. So, what exactly is the right timing for an opportune upsell?

It can be difficult to find this middle ground, but it does exist, and it’s usually somewhere around the time that a customer starts looking at actual dates. By this point, they’re impressed enough by your hotel to genuinely consider a stay, but they’re not yet at the point where they just want to complete their booking.

Let’s say a customer has selected a specific date for their stay, and they click ‘confirm’ on their chosen room. At this point, you’ve got their attention and enough metrics to land a great personalized upselling package, like an affordable family room upgrade or a dinner deal. Offering these things next to the ‘Checkout’ button is a non-invasive, effective way to seal the upselling deal.

# 3 – Leaning Too Heavily on Text Offers

Hotel websites are all about appearances. This is why you would never consider a text-heavy landing page, but probably use hotel imagery to do the talking for you. So, why do your current upsells consist of a simple line of text? That’s not appealing, and the chances are that frustrated customers will click off before they’ve even read what that text has to say.

To ensure you’re actually catching the right attention, you should aim to keep your upsells as image-heavy as your website itself. Of course, you do need to include some text to outline why exactly this upsell is worthwhile, or what’s actually included in that package, but that’s not what you want clients to see first. Instead, you want their eyes to land directly on a serene image of your spa, or a fantastic-looking meal from your top restaurant.

Not only are these images more appealing, but they also tie directly into the relaxing escapism that customers will enter as soon as they start getting serious about their booking. By this stage, they’re receptive and already imagining how great their stay can be. These images show them how much better it could become with your targeted upsells. Of course, you should still take steps to compress those upsell images and make them mobile responsive just like the rest of your site. But then, you sat back and let your offerings themselves do the talking.

Hotel Website # 4 – Upselling Overkill

Your hotel has a whole lot to offer, and you probably have plenty of upselling opportunities, too. But if you pile all of these onto every single potential client, you’ll never make a sale, let alone an upsell. To some extent, personalization will help with this as it narrows down the relevant upselling offers for each booking, but it’s still possible that decision fatigue will stop your customers from buying any add-ons at all. After all, who could realistically hold a plethora of options in their mind at any one time?

More than two or three upsells can quickly become a source of friction rather than a financial boost, so tread carefully. Curate your selections, and consider introducing them at different times. For instance, you could offer room upgrades and spa packages during room selection itself, and then early or late check-in options during actual checkout. This drip feeding will stop clients from feeling quite so overwhelmed, and that could be the secret to securing more upsells than you’ve ever managed before!

What additional thoughts would you add?

If you’re scratching your head in confusion over why your website isn’t getting traffic, then you’re not the first, and you certainly won’t be the last to do so.

You’ve installed a plugin like Yoast, you’ve picked out keywords, and you’re blogging weekly, but when it comes to your Google Analytics, it’s flatlining. Sound familiar?

Most business owners or those responsible for building a presence online will think that building traffic is all about SEO. In reality, search engine optimization is merely the plumbing.

Traffic is a byproduct of achieving great value, distribution and user experience. When you’re missing these, you’re not going to get anywhere by backlinking. That’s not going to save the business or help it drive more traffic to your digital doors.

The Value Gap – Content Without a Soul

Content without a soul is the type of content that will go nowhere fast in garnering your website traffic.

If you’re writing a ‘what is [topic]?’ style of post that already has millions of results, then you’re already facing some stiff competition. The same goes for not adding a unique form of information, whether that’s personal experience, hot takes and new data.

Google will have no reason to rank you if you’re not providing value to the content you’re creating or if you’re being too broad with the topics you’re covering.

When you’re running a company, it’s important to promote yourself at any opportunity given. However, if your content is all about the company and various announcements specific to just the business, then customers aren’t likely to connect with you.

Customers aren’t searching for your news, they’re searching for solutions for their problems or information that they’re interested in from word-of-mouth or individuals’ curiosity. Promoting yourself too often or making it your whole reason for content is not going to drive the traffic you’re after.

Search intent is useful to get right to. You might be ranking for keywords, but are they the right ones? Ranking for ‘free tools’ when you’re actually selling a premium service is not the right type of marketing and advertising you need.

Your Website Isn’t Getting Traffic e – The ‘Invisible Brand’

When it comes to improving your digital PR and marketing efforts, your brand needs to exist and be present. At the same time, you can’t expect that just because it exists, users will find you. Great content doesn’t get found; it gets promoted, and therefore, you mustn’t be an invisible brand, especially when spending so much effort on creating said content.

The 80/20 Rule of Marketing

You should be spending around 20% of your time creating and then 80% of it distributing that content in order for it to get seen. Despite it only being 20%, that small amount spent on creating content should be detailed and high-quality, every single time.

As you begin to grow, you might find yourself having a bit more time to spend on creating content as the organic traffic starts to flow in.

Dark Social and Community

It’s useful to explore other areas of the internet, like the subreddits or LinkedIn groups, where your audience may be hanging out. The internet is, of course, a vast place digitally, so it’s helpful to explore where your brand is being mentioned and to engage with those socials and the community within them.

Email as a Traffic Driver

Your existing audience remains the best source of recurring traffic when you have their email information available to you. It should be the one you rely on to help signal to Google that your site is worth visiting.

The Technical Barriers, aka The Friction Factor

There are a number of technical barriers that cause friction with your users. Some may be obvious, while others might not be so if you’re not as proficient online as other businesses may be.

For example, if your site is taking longer than three seconds to load, nearly half of your traffic is going to bounce. If your site is hard to navigate and isn’t mobile-friendly, that can also bury your business before it’s even given the chance to thrive.

Pop-ups are also something to be conscious about, especially when it comes to how aggressively you use them. Lead magnets and cookie consent banners are what are killing your ‘time on page’ metrics and increasing those bounce rates too.

The Trust Problem

When it comes to authority, if you don’t have trust, then that authority won’t exist. You want a website that is authentic in its experience for the customer and the expertise you provide. If the site looks like it was created by AI, then it’s not going to have the same impact as writing it through human experience.

The lack of social proof can also hinder your business, especially if you don’t have any reviews or provide ‘as seen in’ logos. A lack of bio for the author or any information about the company’s background will mean users switching off.

It’s important to have mentions from sites that people actually read. So while link building is effective, the use of digital PR is equally, if not more important to have as a business strategy.

The Traffic Recovery Roadmap

To help improve your efforts in getting your website traffic, there’s a traffic recovery roadmap that is useful to follow.

Firstly, audit your content. Take away any content that might be dragging your site down, or look to improve upon it to make it more applicable. Adding a personal case study or unique data to your top five posts.

Pick one platform and commit to sharing your best hits daily for a month, and be sure to compress your images and switch to a faster host to fix speed problems.

Generating Traffic is a Social Game

You want to stop treating your website like a library and start treating it like a conversation. If you want more traffic to your website this year, then stop looking at your dashboard and begin looking at where your audience is already talking, especially about you.

Most businesses don’t fail because of making one big huge mistake; they struggle because of many smaller issues that build up over time: slow systems, vague messaging, or tools that no longer fit how the business operates. At first, you work around these problems, but as the business starts to grow, those workarounds stop working. If you want to make sure that you are able to stay competitive, you need to spot what’s slowing you down and deal with it early.

Payment Systems Can Quietly Affect Growth

Payment processing is one of the areas that people often overlook. If it works, you don’t think about it, but when it doesn’t, it causes real problems, failed transactions, delays, and limited options can be very frustrating to customers. In some industries, finding a provider that supports your business type is a challenge by itself. That’s why having access to reliable payment processing services and reliable adult merchant services can make a difference for businesses operating in restrictive sectors. It’s not something that you need to highlight in your marketing at all, but behind the scenes, it is something that helps to create stability. You can accept payments with confidence, avoid disruptions, and focus on serving your customers instead of dealing with any payment issues.

Your Website Shapes First Impressions

Your website often decides whether somebody contacts you or decides to move on. People don’t usually spend much time deciding; they scan and make a judgment. If your site feels outdated and unclear, then make sure that your business is the same. That’s why it’s important to redesign your website when it no longer reflects how your business actually operates. You need to be looking for a clean layout, clear messaging, and simple navigation for the customer experience. Visitors should understand what you have to offer in a couple of seconds, and they should know how to contact you without having to search. Small improvements in this area can lead to more inquiries without having to change anything else in your business.

Clarity Makes Decisions Easier for Customers

Customers don’t want to work hard to understand your business if your pricing is unclear, your services are hard to follow, and your communication feels inconsistent. They may hesitate; that hesitation often leaves them choosing someone else. Clarity removes that friction. When your services are explained simply, your pricing is transparent, and your process is easy to follow, people move more confidently with your business. This applies across everything that you do: your website, your emails, your quotes, and even your conversations shape how clear your business feels.

Conclusion

A strong business is something that is built on making big changes alone; it’s all about fixing the small issues that are slowing you down. When your payments are reliable, your website is nice and clear, and your process makes complete sense, everything starts to run smoothly. That’s what is going to help you stay competitive, growing without there being any friction.

Running a niche business comes with a whole set of challenges. You’re not just thinking about sales and operations; you’re also dealing with things like regulations, payment restrictions, and limited provider options. For many businesses, especially in specialised markets, getting paid isn’t as simple as setting up a standard account and moving on. That’s where you need to make sure you are taking the right approach, as it makes up a whole different world.

Why Payment Access Can Hold You Back

Most business owners don’t think about payment processing until it becomes a problem, but if your business falls into a high-risk category, then you need to make sure that you are stopping yourself from being faced with declined applications, sudden account closures, or sudden limitations. This can create uncertainty for your business.

If you can’t plan properly, you are unsure whether your payment will go through next week. It also affects customer trust; limited payment options can lead to a loss of sales, and over time, that adds up. The issue isn’t always your business; it’s often the way that providers assess risk. Understanding this helps to approach the problem with a clear mindset.

Choosing the Right Payment Partner Matters

Not all payment providers are built to support niche industries; some are designed for low-risk businesses and apply the same rules across the board. That’s where many companies often run into some issues working with providers that understand your space; it changes the experience completely. They’re far more familiar with the requirements, the compliance side, and how your business operates day to day. If you’re operating in a restricted or specialised market, it helps to look into options like high-approval rate CBD merchant accounts without drawing unnecessary attention to it in your broader messaging. The goal is stability. You want to set up a system that allows you to process payments consistently without having constant interruptions or concerns to deal with.

Building Trust Through Reliable Payments

From a customer’s point of view, payment is one of the most important steps. If it ever feels like it is unreliable or confusing, it’s going to create doubt. But when the process is nice and smooth, it reinforces confidence in your business. Customers expect quick, secure transactions; they don’t want to have to worry about whether the payment will go through or if all of their details are safe. Reliable payment systems mean that you are going to be able to help meet those expectations. They also reduce internal stress; you spend less time having to deal with failed transactions, chargebacks, or support issues, and that gives you more time to focus on growing your business.

Conclusion

Niche businesses face unique challenges, especially when it comes to payments, but those challenges are definitely manageable when you take the right approach to them. When you choose the right partners, clear systems, and focus on stability, your business becomes easier to run, and once that foundation is in place, growth feels more achievable for the future.

When the Usual Starts Feeling a Bit Tired

Some books play the same tune over and over. A detective with a dark past. A love story with perfect timing. A world ending but somehow still okay in the end. It’s fine—until it isn’t. Sooner or later the mind wants something new. Not louder or flashier. Just… different.

That’s when the odd ones stand out. The books that don’t fit easy labels. They skip the straight line and take the alley instead. Some speak softly but leave a mark. Others feel like getting lost on purpose. That’s the good stuff.

Z library is very helpful when searching for special subjects. The deep cuts. The books that never went viral but hit exactly the right nerve for someone who needed it.

Strange Plots Good Problems

There are stories that never bother explaining themselves. They just start—and the reader has to catch up. Not out of arrogance but trust. It’s like being handed a map with no legend. The fun is in the figuring out.

A man sees a shark made of language. A graveyard full of ghosts bickers over a boy’s soul. A girl works at a convenience store and doesn’t want to be fixed. These aren’t fantasy or horror or drama exactly. They’re just human in a weird light.

Sometimes a story cracks reality open a little. Not to escape it but to look at it from the side. And that can say more than a whole lecture on meaning.

Here’s a short list of titles that do exactly that kind of bending:

“Night Film” by Marisha Pessl

A creepy elegant dive into the life of a cult film director. The story’s packed with fake websites news clippings blurry photos and hidden symbols. It’s part noir part fever dream. Reading it feels like chasing a shadow down a dark hallway with only a dying flashlight.

“The Invention of Morel” by Adolfo Bioy Casares

On a lonely island a man hides and watches people who never seem to notice him. At first it’s eerie. Then it’s heartbreaking. Borges called it perfect and he wasn’t wrong. It’s short strange and full of quiet unease that grows page by page.

“Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata

Keiko doesn’t want to change. She’s found peace in the beep of a barcode scanner and the rhythm of stocking shelves. Everyone else thinks that’s a problem. But maybe everyone else is the problem. It’s a funny sad sharp book about choosing a different kind of life—and owning it.

These aren’t just unusual stories. They’re good company for anyone feeling out of step with the usual. And after the last page it’s hard not to see the world a little differently.

When Language Becomes the Ride

Some books slow things down. Not with big words but with sentences that breathe. There’s a pulse in the page. It’s not about the plot. It’s the way the words move.

Writers like Ali Smith or Max Porter do this well. The story walks barefoot. The form shifts. It might read like music or notes on a wall. But there’s always something underneath. Humor. Grief. Surprise. These books don’t yell. They hum.

The point isn’t to get lost. It’s to wander. To read not just with the head but with the ears too.

The Good Kind of Strange

A different book isn’t a better book. Just like jazz isn’t better than blues. It’s just a shift. A new chord. A strange flavor on the tongue. Maybe it stays there all day.

These books don’t aim to please everyone. But they make the right people feel seen. And every once in a while that’s all a story needs to do.

The Importance of Patch Management

In today’s digital age, ensuring the security of your IT infrastructure is paramount. One crucial aspect of cybersecurity that’s often overlooked is patch management. It is an essential process where outdated software gets the necessary updates to fix vulnerabilities. Ignoring this could lead to breaches, making your data a target for cybercriminals. To dive deeper into this topic, check out Fortinet’s guide to understanding CVE vulnerabilities.

Lapses in patch management are a common cause of data breaches, and the statistics are alarming. According to Ponemon Institute research, 57% of victims of data breaches stated that their breaches might have been avoided by using a readily accessible patch. Many organizations underestimate the risks posed by unpatched systems, leaving critical resources exposed to threats. Furthermore, the effects of a security breach can harm an organization’s reputation over time in an interconnected world, going beyond the short-term repercussions.

What is CVE Intelligence?

Public cybersecurity vulnerabilities are referenced using the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) method. Utilizing CVE intelligence entails knowing which vulnerabilities exist and how to exploit them to avert such attacks. This knowledge is vital when making prompt choices that might endanger your IT infrastructure.

By strategically using CVE knowledge, patch releases may be prioritized based on vulnerabilities’ potential impact and exploitability. This ensures that your cybersecurity resources are utilized effectively and offer the highest level of protection with the least amount of work. Being aware of the breadth and depth of vulnerabilities in the CVE database may significantly improve your security posture, especially when these insights are combined with a more comprehensive cybersecurity plan.

Moreover, CVE intelligence provides a common language for discussing vulnerabilities among cybersecurity professionals. This uniformity helps organizations streamline their vulnerability management processes, facilitating quicker and more effective communication and actions. By staying informed through reliable sources of CVE listings, companies can prioritize critical updates that fend off the most dangerous threats.

Steps for Effective Patch Management

Inventory Your Assets

First, knowing what software and systems you’re working with is crucial. An accurate inventory allows you to check each item for vulnerabilities regularly. This stage entails documenting every piece of hardware and software in your network, from servers and endpoints to apps and operating systems.

By keeping an extensive inventory of their assets, organizations may determine which components are most vulnerable to damage and must be attended to immediately. Proper asset management also helps understand the dependencies between different systems, ensuring that patches are applied to minimize disruption.

Identify Vulnerabilities

Next, use CVE intelligence to understand your system’s most vulnerable parts. It helps prioritize which patches should be applied first. Regularly scanning your network for known vulnerabilities and comparing findings with CVE databases is essential for keeping your defenses current.

Advanced tools and services specializing in vulnerability assessment can further streamline this process. These tools provide real-time data on new vulnerabilities, enabling quicker response times and ensuring no critical updates are overlooked. Furthermore, frequent threat assessment sessions with your security team help your vulnerability management plan work better overall.

Test and Deploy Patches

Patches should constantly be tested in a controlled setting before being made live. This precautionary step helps in avoiding unexpected outcomes that might disrupt your operations. Establish a testing lab that mirrors your live environment as closely as possible. This setup ensures potential issues can be identified and resolved without impacting your live systems.

Once a patch has been successfully tested, it’s crucial to document the deployment process, including potential issues encountered and resolutions implemented. This documentation may be a helpful resource for future patch releases and for detecting recurring problems that require a more extensive fix.

Monitor and Review

Continuous monitoring and regular reviews will help you stay up-to-date and secure. Constant vigilance is crucial in maintaining a protective shield over your IT assets. Implement monitoring tools that provide real-time analytics and alerts for anomalies or potential threats.

Regular reviews of your patch management process, including post-deployment analysis, are essential for identifying areas for improvement. By conducting periodic audits and seeking feedback from your IT and security teams, you can fine-tune your strategy to address evolving threats better. Staying proactive in your patch management efforts ensures your organization remains resilient against cyber attacks.

Real-Life Examples of Patch Management Success

Consider the case of a healthcare company that adopted effective patch management and CVE intelligence. Diligently updating their systems prevented an attempted ransomware attack that could have cost them millions. Regularly applying patches based on CVE insights helped them address vulnerabilities before they could be exploited, ensuring the safety of sensitive patient data.

Another example is a financial institution that regularly reviews CVE listings and deploys patches promptly. This vigilance allowed them to stay one step ahead of cyber threats, ensuring the safety of their clients’ sensitive data. By implementing automated patch management solutions, they streamlined their update process and significantly reduced the time between vulnerability discovery and patch deployment.

Additionally, a recent incident involving a major retailer was a stark reminder of the importance of timely patching. By integrating robust patch management practices, they were able to thwart a potential data breach attempt and maintain customer trust. Similar success stories highlight how organizations can fortify their cybersecurity posture through proactive patch management and intelligent use of CVE information.

Real-life case studies provide compelling evidence of the benefits of effective patch management and CVE intelligence. These success stories demonstrate that a proactive approach to cybersecurity prevents data breaches and enhances overall operational efficiency. Organizations that invest in robust patch management practices can protect their valuable assets, maintain customer trust, and ensure business continuity in the face of evolving cyber threats.

My daughter Caitlyn turned 22 this weekend. It has been an honor to watch her grow up and become an influential women. I am very pleased that I have seen first hand the closing of the financial gab among women in both the programming, marketing, as well as, the website design space. I have worked for and have hired some of the best women I have met in my career. As a father of a daughter, I want to help promote this continued change of influential women in the digital marketing space.

Influential Women – Women’s History Month

One of the SEO blogs I read frequently is Jeff Shipman’s Semify. He reminds us, in his article “Nevertheless, She Marketed: Celebrating Influential Women in Digital Marketing” that last month was Women’s History Month. This event takes place each March and to mark the upcoming International Women’s Day.

We at DFW Website Designers agree with Semify in honoring women equality. We also want to pay tribute to the trailblazers who have empowered and inspired us to bring our best selves to work and to fight for equality, representation, and recognition. We join Semify in promoting equity in pay and promotional opportunities. As I cheer my daughter, I encourage you to learn and read Jeff’s piece. Here is a part reprinted with permission. Enjoy!

Influential Women – Marketing to Women Vs. Marketing By Women

Marketing and women have had a sordid history, to put it lightly. Old advertisements from the 1920s through the 1960s are infamous for their put-together homemaker slant — a concept that feels downright offensive when viewed through a modern lens. Most advertisements directed toward women were geared toward cooking, cleaning, or maintaining one’s appearance. Even as it became more commonplace for women to join the workforce, the emphasis was on homemaking and embodying what marketers felt was the feminine ideal.

Although today’s advertisements may be significantly less misogynistic in tone, 91% of women still say they feel misunderstood by marketers and advertisers. What’s more, men appear at a far greater frequency in advertisements than women do — and when women are shown, they’re more likely to be young, wearing revealing clothing, and shown in the kitchen. They’re much less likely to be portrayed as intelligent or shown as leaders.

Influential Women are the Majority of Consumers

That’s especially significant because women make up the majority of consumers and drive 70% to 80% of all purchasing. Data has also shown that women are also more likely to pay attention to and engage with advertisements than men are, making them the ideal target audience for marketing campaigns. If only more businesses really got it right, they’d be set up for success.

A lot of that might come down to greater representation within the marketing sector itself. Fortunately, things have taken a turn for the better in that area. Although it was relatively rare to see women in leadership positions in marketing agencies even as recently as the 1980s, women now outnumber men in strategic planning and media agencies while achieving equal representation in account management. Data from 2019 showed that women made up 51.3% of employees in advertising, public relations, and other related areas, while a Forbes report from 2016 found that women held approximately 60% of professional positions within agencies. And according to a recent ANA study, the number of women in marketing leadership positions has reached new heights. Data reveals that 52% of senior-level marketers and 47% of CMOs at companies surveyed were women. However, ethnic diversity in marketing remains low, which is a huge concern at a time when the fight for equality is at the forefront of American minds.

Influential Women Dominate Social Media Management

Another area of marketing where women dominate? Social media management and influencer marketing. Zippia, a careers resource website, estimates that 57.3% of social media managers are women. And while the pay gap certainly does still exist, it’s clear that women are definitely represented in this sphere. Influencer marketing, which is projected to become a $10 billion industry by 2022, is known for being driven by women — a fact that has often resulted in misogynistic attitudes toward the industry as a whole.

Women essentially outpace men in terms of social media usage on virtually every platform and commonly consult social media prior to making a purchase. Since women use more products than men — and products like apparel, personal care items, and food are commonly advertised on social media platforms — they’re a natural fit for both purchasing and promoting. They’re also more likely to share personal information in their posts to connect with others. Because authentic storytelling is an essential part of becoming a successful influencer, it makes sense that women would do well. It’s also worth noting that social media influencers have become modern-day models who take on the work of ad agencies, photographers, and talent. As such, women earn three times as much as men on sponsored social media posts.

It’s clear from these statistics that a lot of progress has been made. That said, the presence of women in marketing isn’t actually a novel idea.

2020 has been a very difficult time for many people due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. People all around the world have found their business shut and a huge number of people are now unemployed. Despite all of these problems, however, it has created the opportunities for new businesses to emerge to help get the global economy back on track. Starting a new business is very exciting and can make you a lot of money if you find a good niche and deliver a great service or product. A winning website is key for every new business in getting off to a great start.

For everyone looking to create a new startup this year, here is the importance of website design to the success of your new business.

1. A Great First Impression

With the majority of business being done online these days, your business’s website is even more important than your office when it comes to impressing new and existing customers. Every industry is incredibly competitive so you need a website which helps you to stand out from the crowd. Local businesses, in particular have a lot of competition, so if you are starting a moving company to service your local area, or another kind of business which only operates locally, your website can help to separate you from your competition. Ensuring that your website is well designed and is optimized to appear at the top of the search engine results pages when people do a search for local businesses will make all the difference.

2. A Means for Customers to Contact You

Customers these days always prefer to contact businesses online rather than calling or visiting in person. This makes your website the most important point of contact between your business and your customers. As well as having an email address for customers to get in touch, you can also incorporate chatbots into your website’s design so that customer queries can be answered immediately. There are varying levels of chatbot sophistication which can answer frequently asked questions and even advise customers with their purchasing decisions.

3. Direct Sales

More and more purchases are being made online these days and this trend has only increased during the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. A great website will enable your customers to make direct purchases from your site which can help you to cut down on overheads and maximize your profit. Your website should have excellent SEO (search engine optimization) so that whenever someone searches for a product they want to buy, your website should be at the top of the list for that product. A professional website design team can help to make sure that your business’s site always appears top of the ranking to guarantee you direct sales.
This is a really exciting time for new startups with entrepreneurs having a great opportunity to create a new business. Creating an attractive, well ranking website can pay dividends in the success of your new business. Make sure you take all the right steps to create a website which will attract visitors and create a solid customer base.

The post The Importance of Website Design to the Success of Your New Business first appeared on DFW Website Designers - 817.247.6003.

[A]s we wind down this very strange year of 2020, DFW Website Designers has just past 300 website clients in the past three years. Working and interacting with small business owners each and every day has taught me a ton about how to run and operate a successful small business. Let’s just say, I have had a front row seat in watching businesses grow. I’ve seen everything from a mom and pop restaurant, to one of the largest distributors of mobile home parts. From private Montessori school, to one of the most popular high school football booster clubs. I have watched organizations grow and be successful.

So in October when a client asked me how to do a Facebook Live, I felt it fitting that I should DO a Facebook Live regularly so I could answer intelligently.

The Birth of 3:3:3 Daily Business Tips

Never planning to make it a thing longer than a few days, on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020, I started my first regular Facebook Live called 3:3:3 Business Tips. Each day at 3 pm, for 3 minutes I would talk about 3 business tips.
Well, 35 days later, the concept has caught on and has now become a regular thing. As ideas grow, I am now adding these short bursts of business intelligence into this daily blog. So, you can join the sometimes live, daily inspiration on both Facebook, YouTube or even LinkedIn each day around 3p. As such, here is a summary of the first episode.

Tip #1/001: It’s Time to Be on Social Media

I remember a day when a business was defined by being listed in the Yellow pages. Of course, today it is a given that a small business has to have a website. But in this age of social connectivity, where nearly every single potential client has a smart phone, doing more texting, tweeting and liking, is a must on social media.

Christina Newberry of Hootsuite, tells us that there are 3 BILLION using social networks across the globe. “Social media for business is no longer optional. It’s an essential way to reach your customers, gain valuable insights, and grow your brand.” I have a ton more to say about this in future blogs, but let’s say if you are not on social media it’s past time to get there.

Tip #2/002 Take Your Business Seriously

In my 11 years of working with small businesses, I have noticed only about half take their business seriously. Side hustles, side business, extra jobs, and new businesses NEED to be taken very serious to be successful. Even in these Covid-19 stay-at-home times, do you wake up and get dressed and sit down and do your business for 8-10 hours a day? Do you give it the same priority you would any other job that paid you say 200k? One of the single elements I have observed for great success is the amount of seriousness and commitment the business owner makes to his new venture.

Tip #3/003 Tell the World, Tell Everyone

One of my favorite books is “How to Sell Anything to Anybody” by Joe Girard. If you do not familiar with him, he’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling the most cars. He’s in there for two reasons, selling the most cars in his career–he sold 13001 cars and selling 1425 cars in his final year. That year, almost all of of his sells were clients coming to him to buy. Read that line again. Coming to him. You might be saying, “Fred how in the world do you create a business like this?” He would go through a box of business cards a week. Joe would pass out more business cards in a day then most of us would in a year. He passed out cards to EVERYONE.
Everyone KNEW he was in the car business. He told and gave cards out to every single human he met. Period. And he reminded everybody, every day, everywhere what he did. He sold cars.

Today, in this fast pace information overload world, you are not really fighting competition, you are really fighting against top-of-mind. Being branded and being remembered for what you do is key. You must tell the world and remind the world daily about your business. Tell everyone.

So starting today, I hoping to bring you some tips that will make a difference in your business. Please subscribe, or join me on Facebook, or connect with me on social media, or tune into to my daily YouTube videos because I am going to share with you what I learning.

By the way, you might know someone who needs a website. Send them my way because that is what I do for a living! I’m looking for Client #301, tell everyone.

The post 3:3:3 Episode 001 – Social Media, Serious Business, Tell Everyone first appeared on DFW Website Designers - 817.247.6003.
